"Berliner Zeitung" Disputes Massacre Claims:

BERLIN, Mar. 24 - Three "Berliner Zeitung" reporters - Bo Adam, Roland Heine and Claudius Technau - combined to produce a further evidence that there was probably no January 15, 1999 Racak massacre at all. Yet that was the pivotal event, according to the New World Order leaders and the establishment media which set the stage for the subsequent bombing of Serbia.

The German foreign minister, Joschka Fischer, for example, was quoted as saying that the Racak massacre was the turning point for him. Yet now we learn that in all probability, there was no Racak massacre at all. The Racak "massacre" seems to have been yet another case of the New World Order leaders' "lies and denials", backing up their anti-Serbian hysteria.

But the Berliner Zeitung report goes further. It demonstrated that the OSCE, the Hague Tribunal and all other international "kangaroo" justice institutions were involved in the deception of the western public. And in the suppression of the truth contained in the Racak autopsy report, produced by an international group of experts, let by a Finnish forensic pathologist.

So now, the world can charge not only the NATO leaders with war crimes against innocent civilians, but also the leading New World Order political and legal institutions with obstruction of justice.

Here is an English version of the Berliner Zeitung report (also see the Mar. 27 update of the TiM Bulletin 2000/3-3). German-speaking readers can find the original text by clicking on the "Berliner Zeitung"  name:

"I felt that something was wrong"

In January 1999 more than 40 Albanians died in Racak – secret reports repute the planned execution thesis.

Bo Ada, Roland Heine and Claudius Technau

BERLIN, March 23. A small village played a crucial role just as the course was set for the Kosovo war: Racak. In this hamlet, inhabited by Albanians, Serb security forces allegedly executed unarmed civilians in cold blood on January 15, 1999. That was the claim of US president Bill Clinton, among many other Nato politicians. Was the public opinion in Nato countries fed with half-truths and unproven claims throughout the spring of 1999 to secure consent with a military intervention in the Kosovo conflict? The "Berliner Zeitung" was able to get access to secret documents which raise doubt about the widely spread version of events:

What happened in January 1999? Let's look at the war crimes tribunal for Yugoslavia in The Hague: "On or about 15 January 1999, in the early morning hours, the village of Racak (Stimlje/Shtime municipality) was attacked by forces of the FRY and Serbia. After shelling by the VJ units, the Serb police entered the village later in the morning and began conducting house-to-house searches. Villagers, who attempted to flee from the Serb police, were shot throughout the village. A group of approximately 25 men attempted to hide in a building, but were discovered by the Serb police. They were beaten and then were removed to a nearby hill, where the policemen shot and killed them. Altogether, the forces of the FRY and Serbia killed approximately 45 Kosovo Albanians in and around Racak. The Hague indictment calls it "murder of Kosovo-Albanian civilians."

This representation agrees with statements made by American William Walker, who led the OSCE in Kosovo at the time. He visits the village the day following the tragedy. His verdict was passed immediately: He claimed to have seen the corpses of more than 20 mostly elderly men, who "obviously were executed were they lay." According to Walker, the others were found later. A "special report" [English term used by B.Z.] by the OSCE mission  prepared under Walker's auspices a day later summarizes: One has found proof of "arbitrary arrests, killings and mutilations of unarmed civilians." The report details a list with 23 adult males in a ravine above Racak, "many shot at point blank", furthermore four adult males who apparently were shot while escaping, as well as 18 corpses in the village proper. The latter include a woman and a young boy.

The pictures of the bodies trigger worldwide shock and dismay. US foreign minister Madeleine Albright calls it a "galvanizing incident". Three days later she demand the bombardment of Yugoslavia as "punishment". In a letter sent to Yugoslav president Milosevic on January 20, the German foreign minister Joschka Fischer writes that any excuses from Belgrade "in no way can justify the execution of 45 unarmed people, amongst them women and children, by the security forces." Later on, Fischer says: "Racak became the turning point for me."

Denial from Belgrade

The Yugoslav government vehemently dispute the condemnation. Belgrade talks of a police action against UCK terrorists. [According to Belgrade,] The bodies were collected by the UCK on the night of January 15 and presented as civilian victims.

On January 22, a forensic team from Finland begins with the autopsy of the corpses that have been brought to the capital of Kosovo. A week later, it has concluded its inquiry. The public waits for the conclusion. But for the time being, the team led by Dr. Helena Ranta takes its time to evaluate the findings.

Meanwhile, the Kosovo conflict becomes grows more intense by the day. In Rambouillet near Paris, the Western powers, Russia, Serbs and Kosovo-Albanians still negotiate a peaceful solution to the dispute. The Rambouillet talks have entered a decisive phase when the team leader Ranta hosts a confusing press conference in Pristina. Instead of issuing the inquiry results, she shares "comments" that reflect her "personal opinion." On this 17th of March 1999, nobody knows that political forces have urged Mrs. Ranta to go public. To this day, her reserach is neither finished, nor has it led to any clear conclusions.

In complicated sentences, prone to misunderstandings, Mrs. Ranta tries to extricate herself from the affair. She declines to speak of a "massacre"; instead, she calls the tragedy a "crime against humanity". She states that no ammunition and no uniforms were found on the bodies, but that some of them were clothed in several thick sweaters. She elaborates on the fact that no gunpowder traces were found, but doesn't clearly state where one has looked for them. She criticizes that the OSCE has neither secured the corpses or any evidence and points to the long time that has passed between the deaths and the forensic inquiry. Both would make a non-ambigious statement difficult.

Nevertheless, most observers took Helena Rantas' statements as a confirmation that an execution had taken place. Important politicians allow no more leeway for doubt. US president Clinton says that "innocent men, women and children" have been driven from their homes, forced to "kneel in the dirt and were moved down." Anonymous Western government representatives tell the "International Herald Tribune" that the most horrendous details from the Finnish report have not yet been made public. A week later, the war begins, and the reports remain secret.

Inquiries with Mrs. Ranta

The Berliner Zeitung has now been able to access copies of the autopsy documents. Of all these reports, none contain any evidence of an execution scenario. The Finnish forensic experts and their Yugoslav and Belorussian colleagues found traces that point to a gunshot fired "relatively close" on only one of the victims. In the other cases, the findings were negative.

Neither is the alleged absence of gunpowder residue [on the victims'] hands documented. As a consequence, there is no evidence that the victims were civilians. We asked Mrs. Ranta about the reason for this. After a brief consideration, she solved the puzzle: The Finnish team never looked for such traces. Rather, the tests mentioned at the press conference on March 17, 1999, were carried out to look for traces of executions or point blank shootings. These were the tests that proved negative. "It was somewhat easy to misunderstand that at the press conference," Mrs. Ranta admits today.

That is a fact. But this "misunderstanding" is crucial to the Racak case. Were the dead actually unarmed, peaceful villagers? Or were at least some of them Albanian UCK fighters? Was it an execution or a battle? In all official statements by the OSCE, the Hague tribunal, and the EU the second possibility is not mentioned.

Against better knowledge. As early as the morning of January 16 1999, the UCK issues the first communique stating that eight of its fighters had been killed in combat in Racak. The names of these dead do not appear on the Hague tribunal's list. Another strange thing: Also on January 16, the UCK mentions 22 execution victims in Racak by name. But only eleven of them are recorded on the tribunal's victim list. Only the figure 22 approximately correlates with the number of dead found on the hill behind Racak. How many dead were there really?

"The truth is," says French journalist Renaud Girard, "that Racak was a fortified village with a lot of  [gunfighter] trenches." There isn't a single word to be found about that in OSCE's "special report." [English term used by B.Z.] On January 16 1999, Girard had hurried to the scene of the tragedy, and he saw OSCE chief of mission in action. "In terms of massacres, Walker is a professional," says Girard. "Any professional knows what to do. He blocks off access to the crime scene to secure the evidence. Walker did no such thing. He trampled around there himself and let the journalists fiddle around with the corpses, collect souvenirs and wipe out evidence. Initially, Girard filed a massacre story like all his colleagues with his paper "Le Figaro." But then he started pondering. "I felt that something was wrong."

Doubts among Journalists

A colleague with "Le Monde" contributed to his doubts. Christophe Chatelet had been in Racak the day before – the day of the alleged massacre. Together with OSCE representatives, he entered the village in the late afternoon, when the Serbs had left. The foreigners found four wounded and were told about one dead. Chatelet returned to Pristina at dusk. He told a colleague that nothing particular had happened at Racak. The day after, when Walker went to racak with a large press entourage, Chatelet declined and stayed at the hotel. Chatelet cannot explain why the OSCE only recorded one dead on the afternoon of January 15, while the OSCE the morning after suddenly found at least 13, possibly as many as 18, corpses in the streets and farmhouses: "I can't solve that mystery."

Certainly, the 45 dead are the Serbs' victims. But if there was a mass execution: why did the Serb units withdraw without any attempt to cover up the incident and make as many corpses as possible disappear? The UCK is in the best position to bring light to the case. Recently, its commander in chief Hashim Thaci said to the BBC: "We had a key unit in the region. It was a fierce battle. We regrettably had many victims. But so did the Serbs."

This has actually been known for some time. It was discussed here in the forum almost a year ago, I believe. But it is significant that Berliner Zeitung and the German mainstream press are now coming out with it and that the Socialist government finds it necessary to defend itself publicly.

Its truly sad and frightening that the truth no longer matters in anything. This is the hallmark of totalitarian societies: truth or reality is what the government says it is.

The article does well to disclose the role of Helen Ranta, an all too overlooked instrument in the EU/US effort to perpetrate a war of aggression on Yugoslavia. I find it interesting that for all the world media's perceived interest in Racak (either as hoax or "massacre"), only the "Berliner Zeitung", and only now, has gone after Helen Ranta to clear up some, um, nagging questions. Why weren't they after her from the time she appeared at the Rambouillet manor to do some PR on behalf of Albanian terrorists and the NWO?

What is very important to recall is the media's coverage of Helena Ranta's statement before the press at Rambouillet. The larger part of the western media completely ignored Ranta's admission that there was no evidence to suggest the dead Albanians were "massacred" as CIA agent William Walker claimed. She even indicated there was no evidence that proved the police were responsible (it's interesting that even the Berliner Zeitung article does not point this part out).

Instead, what the foreign media did seize on was Helena Ranta's statement, obviously prepared for her by some hidden hand, where she indicated:

"While it is not clear who was responsible for the deaths of the victims, it clearly was a crime against humanity."

Most western television stations I observed were not even happy with this obvious effort at propaganda (made in English - Ms. Ranta's fluency was probably THE decisive factor in her appointment by the EU). Many chose to edit out the first part "While it was not clear who was responsible for the deaths of the victims..." (probably as it muddied the waters AND exposed Walker as a liar). Instead, these television networks chose to only broadcast the statement, "...it clearly was a crime against humanity". The footage of this part of her statement was invariably introduced by a western reporter who misled viewer with an introduction, along the lines of: "A Finnish pathologist confirmed the Racak Massacre of 45 ethnic Albanian civilians was a crime against humanity." Naturally, western print media also summarized Ms. Ranta's statement in this way.

The Serial Rapist's plan worked to a T, i,mho. Cox had just released the (heavily re-dacted) treason report, and the "press" was starting to ask questions about rape victims. Bubbafucco, the Dictator, got some Union goons together, sat them down in front of him, and held a "news conference" telling everyone to get out their maps, cuss there's gunna be some murdering, er, I mean, peace-keeping going on in the Balkans.

Today in the Bundestag, the government's Kosovo policy was criticized not just by members of the PDS, but also by members of the CDU, the CSU, and the Greens. Both Fischer and Scharping have had to defend themselves against criticism over Racak and "Operation Horseshoe." Here's the link to the article in the current "Berliner Zeitung": Streit über Racak und Hufeisenplan [Dispute Over Racak and Operation Horseshoe] .

It is important to recall the fact that the "Berliner Zeitung" was, like the overwhelming majority of the German and western pro-interventionist media, a part of the effort to indoctrinate the German public into believing what happened at Racak was a "massacre" of "innocent civilians". And similarly, it refuses to admit, at least in this article, it's own culpability in what was, like the previous Balkan wars, a media-generated tragedy.

Minutes after William Walker's charge against the Serbian authorities (and long before the subsequent investigation by the Finnish forensic team led by Helena Ranta), "Berliner Zeitung" issued several reports actually attempting to support his propaganda. Reporter Betina Festring concluded it was only a question of which Serbian forces were responsible - the police or paramilitaries "led by the infamous warlord Arkan".

"Berliner Zeitung" reporter Dieter Schroeder went one step further and prophesised that Racak was only the beginning of a much greater effort at genocide, orchestrated by -who else- the NWO's "Hitler" puppet, Slobodan Milosevic. Schroeder went on to remind readers that Milosevic, in his view, was the responsible for as many as 200,000 Bosnian Moslem victims (an exaggeration by a factor of between 8 to 12 times the real number). He then urged NATO for intervene, asking rhetorically if it was necessary for hundreds of thousands more to die.

But what do you see above? "Berliner Zeitung" -again like the vast majority of German and western media- refusing to acknowledge this tarnished history, and its responsiblity. Instead it chooses to dump the responsiblity on Joschka Fischer and, naturally, Bill Clinton.

The Apr. 4th issue of "Berliner Zeitung" contains another article claiming to have found proof that three of the dead in Racak were known KLA combatants whose bodies were removed from the scene before the investigation started, so that their presence would not spoilt the image of an unprovoked massacre: Die verschwundenen Toten von Racak [The Missing Corpses of Racak] .

***This representation agrees with statements made by American William Walker, who led the OSCE in Kosovo at the time.***

Walker was also the U.S. representative in Guatemala while the military government there mudered , in cold blood, about 200,000 Mayan Indians, so that their land could be turned into U.S. owned banana plantations. He has always been one of the CIA's hatchet men.

Two days ago, a spokeswoman for the FDP, the liberal party, a former federal Justice Minister, officially asked Defense Minister Scharping for an explanation of both Operation Horseshoe and Racak: FDP fragt Scharping offiziell nach Hufeisenplan [FDP Officially Asks Scharping About Operation Horseshoe] .

Wonder just how long it's going to take before the US media starts reporting this? My bet would be around November 8th.

http://www.serbia-info.com/news/1999-03/05/9441.html

Chief of Finish Forensic Team stated yesterday that her team has executed its part of the job concerning the autopsy report on the Racak victims, and that it was submitted to EU presiding - Germany, while most probably the next week it would be submitted to the Pristina District Court, as well as to the Institute for Forensic Medicine in Pristina.

Asked why the details of the report are kept secret, doctor Helena Ranta answered: "This question should be put to German diplomat Christian Pauls, to whom this report was submitted and who should take decisions what would be done with it."

Ranta denied that any pressure was exerted on her team during the work, although "there were certain discussions within the EU and other countries."

("Blic," 4 March 1999)

Finish pathologists, together with Russian, Byelorussian and Yugoslav experts, were supposed to determine death circumstances for over 40 persons in the village of Racak. Above all, it was necessary to establish if they were terrorists, killed in action, as claimed by the Serb state officials, or this was a massacre and mass execution of civilians, as represented by Albanian terrorists, with the support of the OSCE Verification Mission chief, William Walker.

All pathologists were meticulously working together for over two weeks, and there were no contrapositions in the analysis. Finish pathologists, however, did not sign a joint report justifying this by a need to perform some further analyses.

Doctor Ranta should answer the following questions: why her team had to return to Finland? Why have they been waiting for over a month to finish their report? Why the report was not submitted to competent authorities in Serbia, but only to the EU presiding? How a German diplomat can decide on what would be done with the report? What does actually mean her statement that there were some discussions within the EU and other countries over a medical report?

Do pathologists act according to professional-ethical principles of the medical vocation or they are just the political pawns?

Maybe the world public still waits for the Finish pathologists' report from Racak. As to the Serb public, it can presume with a high probability what are the answers that Helena Ranta did not give.

Thanks for this post. Thanks too for the discreet flags :-)

I have copied and, at first glance at least, think I will soon be distributing this.

I knew Racak was a fix when I first saw the film of the bodies lined along the road. It was so obvious that I could not believe the commentary. What I would have given to have had access to the microphone. Later I found the Le Figaro and Le Monde articles with the first-hand denials of the story Walker told the World. That Walker and Rubin are not behind bars indicates how much of a problem we have in the U.S. with justice.

This is wonderful to see. Now to see to it that the world sees this.

Agreed. But also people like the Dutch really get pissed off when they have been had by a big dishonest power. This article in a few Dutch papers would most definitely pick up some angry and active allies.

In civil wars there is always massacres, this happen in the American civil war, and it happened in the 1990/1999 Yugoslavian civil war. What is so unusual about these incidents is that the overwhelming majority of these massacres were fixed.

What most readers need to understand is that during WWI Croatians and Slovenians fought on the side of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire and Germany. The ethnic Albanians fought on the side of the Turks, pre WWI and during. The neighbors of Yugoslavia also fought all wars against Yugoslavia, Serbia, and they were always allied with whom ever was looked upon as a super power at that time (Ottoman Empire, Austrian-Hungarian Empire, and Germany). Once again Yugoslavia's neighbors made the wrong choice and allied itself with New World Order, once again they will be the losers or on the losing side. History has a way of repeating itself and Serb people and Serbia, before there was Yugoslavia always won all wars. Turkey was the only defeat (in 12 centuries) of the Serbs; but the Serbs got their revenge it only took 500 years.

WWII the Croatians, Slovenians, Bosnian Muslims, and ethnic Albanians from Kosovo were all fighting along the side of the Nazi Germany; they were collaborators, and traitors. The most notorious nazi SS units were made up of Croatians, Bosnian Muslims, and ethnic Albanians, that is a fact. Yugoslavia under Tito did not take revenge on these traitors; he promoted brotherhood and union of all people in Yugoslavia.

After the death of Tito in 1980, and I think as far back as 1974 there was a plan by the west to make the most successful socialist state that was not part of Warsaw Pact or Iron Curtain, that needed to be made an example of failure of communism. The US and other western natians thought that this would lead to the breakup of USSR and the fall of communism. So the meddling into internal politics of former Yugoslavia was started in Zagreb, Croatia officially in 1974. All this culminated in 1990/91 when Germany unilaterally recognized the independence of Slovenia and Croatia.

Croatians blew up the Dubrovnik old city to get the western Europe and US to intervene since they knew that winning a war against the Serbs was impossible, that is if there was no super power behind them, like during WWII. Croatians fixed massacres in Vukovar, once again to get the support from the west. The Muslim were more successful at making Serbs look as they were behind massacres and incidents, which were all debunked after the war and some were admitted by the Muslim government of Bosnia. There were many, Markele market, Sarajevo bread line, Mostar funeral, etc… All these were debunked and in all of these incidents some how the cameras were always present, conveniently, which did not help.

What you have to realize is that Croatians, Slovenians, Bosnian Muslims and ethnic Albanians all head American help in making the Serbs look as aggressors, this help was Rudder Finn public relations firm. This is how these former republics started to demonize the Serbs in each of the republics where the Serbs lived for many centuries. Now the PR firm Rudder Finn, knew that these people, Croatians, Bosnian Muslim, Slovenians, and ethnic Albanians all head nazi pastes and they had to get the Jewish support in order to over come this horrific nazi/fascist past. The way they decided to do this is to make it look as the Serbs were committing atrocities of the likes of the nazi Germany during WWII. Thus a plan was created, and it was executed with precision and coordination between these ethnic minorities, it was successful. The victims of all the wars including this latest of civil wars to overtake Yugoslavia, Serbs were the victims. But through well-orchestrated propaganda and western media these ethnic minorities with nazi/fascist pasts were made to look as victims, and the Serbs who were victims as aggressors.

The facts on the ground support the Serbian view and not the Croatian, Slovenian, Bosnian Muslim or the ethnic Albanian view that they were the victims at the Serbs hands; but rather the other way around. There are no longer 350,000 plus Serbian's living in Croatia, there are no longer 250,000 Serbs living in Bosnia and there are no longer 350,000 Serbs living in Kosovo. What do these facts show is that the regardless what the western PR machines and propaganda tried to accomplish with demonizing the Serbs the facts on the ground do not lie, and do not support the western point of view.

I would appreciate if some one would post debunked incidents/massacres that were debunked as evidence, thanks in advance.
