A CARTE SCOPERTE

Con l'invio di un messaggio al presidente montenegrino Milo Djukanovic
da parte del famigerato senatore statunitense Bob Dole, i falchi degli
Stati Uniti D'America scoprono le carte sulla questione del Montenegro
esplicitando il loro sostegno alla causa secessionista, contro il
tentativo di mediazione di parte europea portato avanti in queste
settimane da Xavier Solana.
Nella lettera a Djukanovic, Dole promette che si impegnera' affinche'
gli USA riconoscano i risultati del referendum per l'indipendenza
programmato per questa primavera, referendum che Solana sta cercando di
evitare attraverso un compromesso che mantenga una Unione formale di due
Stati sovrani, la Serbia ed il Montenegro.
Dole, che nella lettera annovera se stesso tra gli "amici americani del
Montenegro", e' noto per il suo impegno incessante per lo squartamento
della RFS di Jugoslavia. Dopo avere effettuato pressioni e "lobbying"
nelle fasi iniziali soprattutto in funzione filocroata (facendo tra
l'altro passare la deleteria Legge del Senato USA del novembre 1990),
Dole ha lavorato alla secessione del Kosovo ed alla causa panalbanese in
particolare attraverso la American-Albanian Civil League guidata dal suo
fido collaboratore Joseph Dioguardi.

BOB DOLE SENDS SUPPORT LETTER TO DJUKANOVIC

WASHINGTON, March 5 ( Beta) - U.S. senator and former presidential
candidate Bob Dole sent a letter to the Montenegrin President Milo
Djukanovic, saying he hoped that the U.S. administration would accept
the Montenegrin people's will.
"We are ready to do all in order for the results of a democratic
referendum to be respected and that Montenegro be welcomed in the
community of nations," Dole said in a letter carried by Montenegrin
state television in the evening of March 4.
He said it seemed that "Montenegro is under great pressure from
the European Union to cancel referendum preparations and postpone the
vote for somewhere in distant future, and in this way tie Montenegro's
progress to the rate imposed exclusively by Belgrade".
Dole also said that "American friends of Montenegro", including
himself, remained confident that, from the perspective of U.S. politics,
the best option is for Montenegro to "remain on its present course".
